Prof. Dr. María Ángeles Pérez Marín
Professor of Procedural Law at University of Seville
She holds a PhD in Law from the University of Cádiz, under the supervision of Prof. José Martín Ostos, Professor of Procedural Law at the University of Seville, and Associate Professor of Procedural Law at the University of Seville.
She is the lead researcher of the research group "The Administration of Justice in Spain, America, and Europe," PAI SEJ-308, funded by the Andalusian Regional Government. She is also part of the research project "The Evolution of the European Judicial Area in Civil and Criminal Matters: Its Influence on the Spanish Process" (PGC2018-094209-B-100), directed by Prof. Mar Jimeno Bulnes, Professor of Procedural Law at the University of Burgos, and funded by the Ministry.
She is the author of several monographs (The Withdrawal in Civil Procedure; Bodily Interventions in Criminal Procedure; The Fight Against Crime in the European Union: The Path Toward a Common Criminal Jurisdiction; The Jury Court; The Judicial Auction—the last in co-authorship with Dr. María Pilar Martín Ríos) and scientific publications in national and international journals of civil, criminal, and European Union procedural law. Additionally, she has published various works on victims' rights and the rights of juvenile offenders in the European Union.
She has carried out research stays at the Faculty of Law at the University of Coimbra (Portugal), the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences at the University of Mendoza (Argentina), the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (San José, Costa Rica), the Center for Judicial Studies in Lisbon, the Constitutional Court of Portugal (based in Lisbon), the Lisbon Labor Court, the Autonomous University of Lisbon, and the Technological University of El Salvador.
She has delivered lectures at national and international conferences and is a faculty member in various Master's programs in Law and European Studies at the University of Seville. Additionally, she has participated as a lecturer in various specialization and training courses in Spain and Latin American countries.
