Zulema Altamirano Argudo is a prominent figure in the field of gender equality and gender-based violence in Spain. Her career includes:
  • Master’s Degree in Leadership and Public Management from INAP–UIMP.
  • Specialist in multidisciplinary intervention in gender-based violence from UPSA.
  • Seconded National Expert at the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE), responsible for several studies at European level.
  • Winner of the 1st National Victoria Kent Research Award in 2011.
  • Coordinator of the implementation of the Equality Plan of the General State Administration and of the protocol against sexual harassment.
  • Director of the Women and Science Unit within the Office of the Minister of Science and Innovation, advising and promoting gender equality policies in the field of R&D&I.
  • Psychologist in the Senior Corps of Penitentiary Institutions since 2007, working with perpetrators of domestic violence and on prevention and treatment programs for imprisoned women who are victims of gender-based violence.
