Title: Finger Lakes Youth Forum Program Coordinator

Note: This role is part-time and is 15-20 hours/week

Job Description:

• The Finger Lakes Youth Forum Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing all activities relevant to the Finger Lakes Youth Forum (FLYF). FLYF is a space created by students and for students to engage in productive conversations on complex topics that matter most to them.
• The Coordinator partners with local high schools (Corning-Painted Post, Corning-Painted Post High School Learning Center, and Elmira City Schools) to identify and train student leaders to facilitate meaningful conversations with their peers.
• Primary responsibilities include program development, event coordination, recruitment of participants, and monitoring program outcomes. The ideal candidate is an organized, innovative, and passionate individual with strong communication and leadership skills, dedicated to empowering and amplifying youth voices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Recruit, train, and develop student leaders.
• Coach student leaders to design and implement engaging forums.
• Coordinate ongoing training for student leaders.
• Build relationships with local schools, organizations, and stakeholders.
• Monitor program effectiveness and prepare reports on outcomes.
• Facilitate workshops and other forms of ongoing professional learning experiences for educators.
• Co-facilitate restorative meetings with district staff to support student's social-emotional growth.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma.
• Demonstrated experience in program coordination or youth-focused initiatives.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Passion for working with youth and supporting their civic engagement skills.
• Must be available during school hours.
