Job Description

The YWCA Greater Harrisburg is seeking a compassionate and organized professional to fill the role of a Transitional House Manager in our Perry County location. This position oversees the daily operations of its transitional housing facility. The ideal candidate will ensure a safe and supportive environment and offer resources to residents who are transitioning from domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, or dating violence to a life free of violence. You will work closely with residents, helping them develop life skills, connect with community resources, and move toward independent living and self-sufficiency.

Position Details:

  • Location: Perry County Office
  • Hours: 37.5 hour work week; Monday - Friday 8am to 4pm with some on-call responsibilities
  • Salary: starting at $20.51/hr. based on experience

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in crisis intervention and conflict resolution
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
  • Familiarity with Perry County community resources and housing assistance programs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facility Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the facility, including cleanliness, safety, and facility maintenance. Coordinate with maintenance staff and external contractors as needed
  • Resident Support: Build strong, trusting relationships with residents. Conduct regular case management and supportive services, ensuring compliance with house rules and assisting with personal and professional development
  • Program Coordination: Collaborate with community providers to implement personalized action plans for each resident, focusing on achieving stable housing and employment
  • Conflict Resolution: Mediate conflicts between residents, promoting a peaceful and supportive environment
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of resident progress, services provided, health & safety inspections and other required documentation
  • Community Engagement: Facilitate adult and children group activities to foster personal growth, development, and self-sufficiency
  • Safety and Security: Ensure the safety of all residents by enforcing house rules and conducting health & safety inspections of units

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field. Minimum 2 years of experience in social/human services role, preferably in transitional housing, case management, or homelessness/victim services. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving history and reliable personal vehicle. Proof of insurability may also be required
  • Current FBI, criminal and child abuse clearances or the ability to obtain required
