Position: Test Engineer II
Location: 11131 Adams Road, Franksville, WI 53126
Position Overview
The Test Engineer II will be a key member of Eaton’s Testing Center of Excellence , working closely with product development teams to guide testing direction, support product design, and ensure compliance with required standards. This role requires hands-on execution of electrical testing within the Franksville, WI electrical laboratories, with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and design robustness.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product development teams to advise on design direction and ensure product compliance with required standards.
- Assess testing needs and implement effective testing approaches and equipment setups .
- Execute hands-on electrical tests of varying complexity, including high voltage, high power, and thermal testing.
- Perform standardized and specialized testing on electrical power distribution apparatus .
- Review and develop test methods and procedures to ensure repeatability, quality, and efficiency.
- Design and set up test circuits , instrumentation, and controls.
- Run tests, collect and analyze data , evaluate results, and document findings in technical reports.
- Ensure compliance with IEC/ISO 17025 and A2LA certification requirements in collaboration with Power Test Lab (PTL) management.
- Promote and maintain lab and site safety standards , contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
- Experience with electrical testing , including high voltage, high power, and thermal testing.
- Strong knowledge of testing standards, methods, and compliance requirements .
- Hands-on experience with test equipment setup, circuit design, and instrumentation .
- Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a lab environment .
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an IEC/ISO 17025 accredited laboratory.
- Familiarity with A2LA certification requirements .
- Prior experience with product development in power distribution apparatus .
- Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
