Job Description

Position: Project Manager

Location: REMOTE within 30-40 miles within San Antonio, TX

Duration: 6-month contract (extensions/permanent possible)

Pay Rate: $50-60/hour (depending on experience)

Must-Haves:

• 5+ years of IT project management experience
• 5+ years of experience managing multiple data center virtualization migration projects at a given time
• Experience supporting the government/public sector (state, local, county, etc.)
• Technology vendor management experience
• Ability to clear CJIS background check and drug test

Plusses:

• Bachelors degree in technology, computer science, or a related field
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Experience supporting VMWare and/or Nutanix migrations

Day-to-Day:

• Monitors and manages procurement activities, including coordinating quotes and negotiating contracts.
• Ensures timely project implementation within budget and scope.
• Adheres to PMO processes for project management and delivery.
• Collaborates with IT staff and business units to prioritize project tasks and assignments.
• Provides precise and timely status reports and supervises project management metrics.
• Leads and facilitates various meetings and presentations, including preparing agendas and minutes.
• Addresses escalations identified by project teams and escalates to management when necessary for swift resolution.
• Maintains a repository of project management documents for use during and after the project.
• Works with vendors to assess requirements and ensure functionality.
• Partners with vendor implementation managers to identify project tasks and dependencies, develop and track schedules, and manage hardware deliveries.
• Manages the overall project budget, tracks expenses, and approves invoices related to professional services, hardware, and software.
• Collaborates with technical leads to receive, inventory, and distribute hardware as needed.
• Coordinates with departments to schedule network outages required for project implementation.
• Develops and manages communication plans, ensuring proper channels are used to communicate outages with offices/departments.
• Works with technical leads to ensure all network changes are submitted and approved.

IG Consultants: While on contract, you will be an Insight Global employee working for a particular company/end client on W2.

• Pay Day: You will be paid out each Friday and one week in arrears. This means you will receive payment for this week’s hours next Friday.
• Holidays/Time Off: While a consultant through Insight Global, the hours you work are they hours you will be paid. We do not offer paid sick days, paid time off, or paid holidays, except as required by applicable law.
