Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment firm, is currently seeking an Upper School Spanish Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year at an independent school in Worcester, MA.

Spanish Teacher Responsibilities:

• Teach four Spanish courses across multiple proficiency levels, from beginner to advanced.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and improve course curriculum as needed.
• Partner with colleagues to establish efficient grading and assessment practices.
• Developing lesson plans and curricula based on the needs of individual students.
• Conducting research on teaching methods, materials, and language games that can be used in class.
• Teaching students about Spanish culture, which may include festivals, traditional food, and dress, and social conventions.
• Scheduling and preparing students for oral and written examinations.
• Organizing feedback sessions with students and their parents if applicable.
• Providing suggestions for further learning and scheduling intervention sessions with struggling students.
• Serve as an advisor for students ensuring student success.

Spanish Teacher Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish language, Education, or related required. Master's degree preferred.
• Proven written and verbal fluency in Spanish.
• 3-5 years of previous teaching experience preferred,
• No teaching license or credential is required.
• Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
• Well-organized and able to handle multiple responsibilities.

Additional Desired Qualities:

• Willingness to work with middle school students.
• Passion for foreign language education.
• Desire to be involved in school-wide initiatives and extracurricular activities.
• Experience in implementing inquiry-based learning.
• Knowledge of ACTFL standards preferred.
