ABB is a global leader in industrial automation and digitalization, committed to driving progress through innovation and sustainability. We are currently seeking a QCS Resident Service Technician to join our team in Hawesville, KY .
In this onsite role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading ABB’s proprietary Quality Control Systems (QCS) within a customer facility. This position plays a key role in ensuring system reliability, optimizing performance, and strengthening long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on ABB QCS hardware and software
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, and system-related issues
• Support installation and commissioning of new systems, upgrades, and advanced services
• Provide on-call emergency support as part of a rotating team schedule
• Accurately document all service activities and comply with ABB’s HSE policies
• Collaborate with plant personnel and ABB teams to meet service commitments
Qualifications:
• Associate degree in a related field with 5+ years of relevant work or military experience, or a high school diploma/GED with 7+ years of experience
• Proficiency in diagnosing electrical systems up to 240 VAC / 870 VDC
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation
• Familiarity with the paper making process and DCS systems is a plus
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills
• Willingness to travel up to 15% domestically for training and support
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship
