Job Description

NOVA Engineering is hiring a highly skilled and experienced Senior Construction Inspector with expertise in airport paving to join our team in Charlotte, NC . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction inspection, particularly in airport paving projects, and hold an ACI Level 1 certification.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough inspections of airport paving projects to ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and regulations.
• Monitor and document construction activities, including materials, methods, and equipment used.
• Review and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Identify and report any deviations from project plans or specifications.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve issues and ensure project quality.
• Perform tests and inspections on concrete and asphalt materials to verify compliance with ACI standards.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records of project progress.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed on-site and address any safety concerns promptly.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior inspectors and construction staff.

Qualifications:

• ACI Level 1 certification is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction inspection, with a focus on airport paving projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and standards related to airport paving.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
