Job Description

Company:

We are a national leader in integrated building systems, offering engineering, construction, service, and energy solutions for complex facilities. With deep expertise in mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and process systems, we deliver full lifecycle design-build services across sectors such as healthcare, data centers, higher education, infrastructure, and commercial buildings. We believe in lean principles, prefabrication, innovation, and developing the next generation of industry leaders.

Position Overview:

The Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of MEP-intensive design-build projects, from preconstruction through commissioning. This individual will manage project scope, schedule, and budget while leading interdisciplinary teams and ensuring client satisfaction. The Project Manager plays a key role in project planning, coordination, and communication, acting as the central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

🔹 Project Planning & Execution

  • Lead day-to-day management of MEP design-build or construction-only projects, typically ranging from $15M to $50M+ in value.
  • Develop and maintain project execution plans, logistics strategies, and procurement schedules.
  • Manage the submittal and RFI processes, and ensure timely distribution and approvals.
  • Monitor project milestones and work packages to ensure critical path adherence.

🔹 Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary contact for the owner, architect, engineers, and general contractor throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Proactively manage client expectations, facilitate project meetings, and provide regular status updates.
  • Address and resolve client concerns while fostering a positive and collaborative relationship.

🔹 Financial Management

  • Create and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports with accuracy and discipline.
  • Identify and manage changes in project scope; lead pricing, negotiations, and execution of change orders.
  • Ensure timely billing, invoice tracking, and collections to maintain project cash flow.

🔹 Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Supervise and support project engineers, assistant project managers, field staff, and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with VDC, engineering, procurement, safety, and commissioning teams for coordinated delivery.
  • Foster a high-performance team culture focused on safety, quality, communication, and accountability.

🔹 Field Operations Oversight

  • Work closely with field supervisors and superintendents to align field activities with the project plan.
  • Visit job sites regularly to monitor progress, quality, safety, and compliance.
  • Coordinate delivery of prefabricated materials and equipment to optimize schedule and reduce rework.

🔹 Risk & Quality Management

  • Identify project risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) processes.
  • Promote and enforce jobsite safety in alignment with safety culture and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field required.
  • Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED, DBIA) are a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive construction management experience with a strong focus on mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Proven track record managing large-scale commercial, healthcare, mission-critical, or infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in Procore, Primavera P6/MS Project, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of BIM tools (e.g., Revit, Navisworks) and MEP coordination processes.
  • Familiarity with lean construction principles, prefabrication workflows, and integrated project delivery (IPD).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and drive accountability across teams.
  • Skilled at conflict resolution, negotiation, and maintaining strong client relationships.
