Role: Oncology Triage Nurse

Location: The Woodlands, TX (Remote – Local Candidates Only)

Duration: 6 months (with potential for full-time conversion)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM CST

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Oncology Triage Nurse to join our team remotely (local candidates only). In this role, you will provide telephonic triage support to oncology patients, assess their needs, and collaborate with clinical staff to ensure they receive appropriate care. Responsibilities include documenting patient interactions, identifying high-risk situations, providing patient education, and directing patients to additional resources when needed. You will deliver nursing care in alignment with national standards, organizational guidelines, and state licensure requirements, while also supporting quality initiatives and compliance programs. This position plays a vital role in enhancing patient outcomes and ensuring timely, compassionate guidance.

Key Requirements:

• Active and unrestricted RN license in Texas or another compact state (additional licenses may be required).
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience , with at least 2 recent years in oncology (hospital or practice setting).
• Oncology certification (or willingness to obtain within 1 year).
• Reside within the Greater Houston area and able to commute to The Woodlands, TX for training and occasional meetings.
• Reliable high-speed internet connection for remote work.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong clinical judgment and ability to assess patient needs remotely.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with electronic health record systems and telehealth platforms.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple priorities.
• Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.

Additional Info:

• Must attend all onsite training and meetings in The Woodlands, TX office.
• This is a remote position for local candidates only, offering the opportunity to transition to a full-time role .
