Job Title

About your role:
As a Senior Cognos Engineer you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our data warehouse infrastructure. You will work closely with our Data Warehouse Application Development, Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity teams to ensure the seamless integration of software releases into production environments. You will focus on automating and streamlining workflows, ensuring system reliability, and driving efficiency throughout the software development lifecycle. What you'll do:

• Design and Manage Data Warehouse, Data modeling and infrastructure tuning.
• Partner with Development and IT operations for smooth software releases integration.
• Implement automation and integration processes including code deployment and infrastructure provisioning
• Ensure system reliability and efficiency by implementing monitoring systems and optimizing performance.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production issues to ensure high availability and resolving complex issues.
• Promote Secure DevOps and partner with Cybersecurity on scanning using tools like Fortify, SonaType, WebInspect, and liaising with penetration testing teams
• Mentor and guide junior engineers

Experience you'll need to have:

• 8+ years of experience in ETL/Datawarehouse using IBM Cognos, Mainframe, Cure, Cobol, ALC, CA-7, ACF2 security.
• 8+ years of experience in managing data loads from Mainframe VSAM files to IBM Cognos.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Visual Studio
• Experience with SQL Server, SSMS, SSIS, PowerShell, WINSCP
• Comprehensive knowledge in Data Warehouse Management, BI Tools, Data Mining, Data Modeling, ODBC, OLEDB.
• Expertise in Data security, Compliance Standards, and Data Integrity.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science and/or equivalent military experience.

Experience that would be great to have:

• Experience in financial services, FinTech, or SaaS environment
• Snowflake, Snow SQL, and Snowflake Stored Procedures
• VB.NET, ASP.NET, C#, C++, WPF, JavaScript; Angular/Bootstrap
• Understanding of system architecture including Azure or AWS cloud infrastructure

How you’ll work: 

• This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experience helps you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
