Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Materials Manager to oversee and optimize our materials planning, procurement, logistics, and inventory control processes for a client in Michigan. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in injection molding and automotive manufacturing , with a proven ability to manage complex supply chains and drive operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of materials planning, purchasing, and inventory control.
• Oversee logistics operations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and finished goods.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure timely availability of materials for injection molding operations.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
• Monitor and analyze inventory levels, material usage, and production schedules to minimize waste and reduce costs.
• Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across materials management processes.
• Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards and customer requirements.
• Manage and mentor a team of materials coordinators and buyers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in materials management within the automotive industry .
• Strong knowledge of injection molding processes and materials.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and inventory management software.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
