A growing precision manufacturing company near Charlottesville, VA (within 35 minutes) in the industrial tooling sector is seeking a hands-on Machine Shop Manager to lead daily operations at a small, high-precision shop. The facility specializes in producing custom tooling using CNC and grinding equipment. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a shop undergoing modernization and process standardization under new leadership.

YOU’LL BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU:

• Have experience managing a small machining or tooling operation and enjoy a “player-coach” role.
• Are skilled in CNC or grinding machinery and can document and digitize shop processes effectively.
• Communicate clearly, lead by example, and motivate a small technical team to hit performance goals.
• Understand production flow, quality standards, and basic operational or financial metrics in a manufacturing environment.

TO BE CONSIDERED, YOU’LL NEED:

• Associate degree or higher in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of machining or manufacturing experience with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Proven experience with CNC or grinding machines, and a strong understanding of machining processes and documentation standards.
