Job Description

Interim CFO/COO – Real Estate Development

Duration: 3-6 months

Location: On-Site, Apalachicola, FL

Think Consulting is seeking an experienced Interim CFO/COO with real estate expertise to join a real estate investment and development organization during a period of transition and restructuring. This hands-on leadership role will focus on stabilizing operations, strengthening financial reporting, and supporting strategic initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate finance and operations , with experience navigating complex organizational change, bringing structure, transparency, and financial discipline to a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead short-term financial stabilization and operational restructuring initiatives.
  • Assess current financial health and implement accurate, timely reporting processes.
  • Oversee cash flow management, forecasting, and financial analysis for clear visibility into the organization’s position.
  • Provide detailed and consistent reporting to shareholders and key stakeholders.
  • Enhance internal financial controls, budgeting processes, and accountability across departments.
  • Collaborate with operations leadership to align financial and operational priorities.
  • Support divestiture of non-core assets and stabilization of core property portfolio.
  • Guide debt restructuring and financing strategies to strengthen the balance sheet.
  • Serve as a trusted financial and operational advisor to leadership and investors.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of progressive finance and operations experience, including senior leadership or CFO/COO-level roles.
  • Strong background in real estate development, property management, or related investment sectors.
  • Proven success leading restructuring, turnaround, or transformation initiatives.
  • Expertise in cash flow forecasting, debt management, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
