Duration : 6+ months
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Hyper-V Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the design, architecture, and implementation of a new enterprise-level Hyper-V environment. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in building Hyper-V infrastructure from the ground up , along with strong knowledge of VMware-to-Hyper-V migrations . This role requires advanced technical leadership, hands-on deployment, and the ability to establish best practices for scalability, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, architect, and build a new enterprise Hyper-V environment from scratch.
- Lead VMware to Hyper-V migration projects, ensuring minimal downtime and smooth transitions.
- Implement high availability, clustering, failover, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Optimize performance, scalability, and capacity planning for Hyper-V workloads.
- Integrate Hyper-V with Windows Server, Active Directory, networking, and storage systems.
- Establish monitoring, automation, and operational procedures for Hyper-V environments.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and cloud teams to align with enterprise standards.
- Provide Hyper-V expertise, mentoring, and best practices to internal teams.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 10+ years of IT infrastructure experience, with 5+ years specializing in Microsoft Hyper-V .
- Hands-on experience building enterprise-scale Hyper-V clusters (not just administration).
- Proven success migrating workloads from VMware ESXi/vSphere to Hyper-V .
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Failover Clustering, SCVMM, and PowerShell automation .
- Experience with storage solutions (SAN, NAS, iSCSI, SMB 3.0) integrated with Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with Azure Stack HCI, hybrid cloud, and backup/recovery strategies a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
