Position Title: CNC Lathe Machinist

Wage: $20 - $30/hour depending on experience

Shift: 1st shift

Hours: 6:30am to 3pm

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Lathe Machinist with experience in Mazatrol programming, live tooling, and multi-axis operations to join our client's team.

Key Responsibilities:

Programming & Setup:

• Program CNC lathes using Mazatrol conversational programming, interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
• Program from print, input instructions including zero and reference points, tool offsets, compensation, and conditional switches.
• Calculate machining requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry, and prove part programs to ensure accuracy and quality.

Machine Setup & Operation :

• Independently set up and operate multi-axis CNC lathes, utilizing live tooling for complex machining operations.
• Install and adjust three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, and stops to ensure precise setups.
• Verify machine settings by measuring positions, running first-pass parts, and conducting sample workpiece checks.

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement:

• Monitor and maintain quality control standards by measuring parts, conducting first-article inspections, and performing buddy checks.
• Ensure that all parts meet engineering specifications and industry standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to machining operations, tooling, or machine settings.

Documentation & Record Keeping:

• Maintain accurate records of work performed, machine settings, and production data.
• Follow safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe work environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a CNC Lathe Machinist, with hands-on expertise in Mazatrol programming and live tooling operations.
• Strong ability to program, set up, and operate multi-axis CNC lathes.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, taking ownership of setup and machining operations.
• Knowledge of basic math, geometry, and trigonometry for calculating machining requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot machining challenges.
• Familiarity with standard machining tools and equipment.
• Strong work ethic and a commitment to safety in the workplace.
