Charge Nurse - HealthCare Industry
Location: Alta Heights Post Acute AHP01, 813 South Dickerson Rd, Goodlettsville, TN 37072
Position Summary: Direct the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Unit in accordance with current standards governing long-term care facilities, ensuring the highest degree of quality care for residents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing nursing services.
- Develop and update policies and procedures for the nursing service department.
- Resolve issues related to resident/patient care, including family concerns.
- Ensure reference materials at nurses' stations are current.
- Maintain the Nursing Service Procedures Manual.
- Participate in the facility's quality assurance program.
- Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms and reports.
- Make nursing diagnoses and assessments.
- Develop and implement nursing care plans.
- Review nurses' notes for accuracy and completeness.
- Authorize the use of restraints when necessary.
- Provide health education to patients and families.
- Assist in developing annual in-service training programs.
- Participate in developing assessments and care plans for residents.
- Encourage resident and family participation in care plan development.
- Ensure all personnel are aware of and follow the resident's care plan.
- Maintain good rapport with all services involved in the care plan.
- Participate in quality assurance activities.
- Adhere to scope of practice limitations.
- Complete required forms and documents.
- Perform general nursing duties in emergencies or staffing shortages.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident care information.

- Ability to make independent decisions and accept constructive criticism.
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, families, and the public.
- Ability to maintain supplies and equipment.
- Ability to seek out and incorporate new methods and principles.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Prolonged use of a computer and office equipment.
- Travel may be required.
Education & Experience:
- Graduation from an Accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Good standing with the State Board of Nursing and maintenance of required continuing education/licensing.
- 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite products; knowledge of PCC preferred.
